Non-Run of the Week, May 5th

80 Burpee Challenge!


Distance: 0.0 miles horizontal, 240 feet vertical

Warm-up with bodyweight squats, and push-ups on your knees.

Challenge: Complete 80 burpees as quickly as possible. You can pace yourself however you want (12,12,10,10,8,8,6,6,4,4 works well).

Post your time.

For a second there I was Yipee no long run....then I saw the fatefully word Burpees....Yipee quickly became Yikes.

Slar says - Yeah, I already have to do 30 of 'em in my "A" workout this week. Yikes is right! I think my heart will be pounding about 3 feet outside my chest when I'm done with this!!!!

12:13, did sets of12,12,10,10,8,8,8,6,6 with about 0:45 seconds between each set.

Finshed at 11:15, but honestly couldn't remember if I for sure did 2 sets of 10, so just to torture myself,,,finished with 10 more ...12:47.

Wasn't pretty...bonked my head a time or two on the floor...not exactly fun, but made it a goal to do it and now it is done! YIPPEE! May try again once more. Jen

P.S. I feel for you Slar...had 30 in my "A" workout this week too.

this is the second time I have tried to post this, so if it comes up twice please forgive..

Jeanne and I did this immediately after a "run of the week" from a few weeks ago. It was Jeanne's first time doing Burpee's. Thankfully, Dan was there to show her proper form and time us. Whew!!

My face was still red and hour later...and Jeanne was reaching for the Advil! I will try this again...just not right after a "run of the week"!

Okay I have done the Burpee torture. Made it in 12:33. Man was I huffing and puffing for awhile afterwards. But Yipppppeeeee I have completed it. Not sure I will get another in before the next posting. What will Dan have in store for us next,hhhmmmm?????

Slar says - 17:26 for me.....hey, I'm just happy I did and survived. Burpees are a killer for me. Had a headache afterwards.....

Slar says - OMG....did anybody else get sore? My arms got really sore...especially around the elbows and extending down towards the lats. Lost some range of motion in my right arm because it's that sore!
